Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable High School English Teacher to deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in accordance with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction and the North Carolina Standard Course of Study. The teacher fosters critical thinking, communication skills, and a love of literature while supporting the academic and personal growth of all students.  This position is part-time (2 classes daily).

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with state standards in English/Language Arts.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to active learning and respectful discussion of diverse perspectives.
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction based on data and individual student needs.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
• Participate in professional development and contribute to department and school initiatives.
• Uphold school policies, classroom expectations, and student support practices, including MTSS.
• Integrate critical thinking, analysis, and writing across content areas.
   

Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of NC Standards for English/Language Arts Instruction
• Ability to differentiate instruction.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
• Experience with digital learning platforms and instructional technology preferred.
